The RA Journey

When entering the head of a trail, what's ahead is often a mystery. There is going to be bumpy dirt, border-trail shrubs, tall trees, and probably mountains. But the awareness, challenge, and strength that will be needed hasn't met the hiker yet.
At the end comes victory: this could be a waterfall, a gorgeous mountainous sunrise view, the head of the trail again...

And always a little more strength and confidence.

Life is a journey, right? And new adventures are synonymous with this trail?

Being naturally intrigued by the influence that Residence Life has on the campus at Abilene Christian University, I applied to become a 2010-2011 Resident Assistant (RA). Two interviews later, I was offered a position! Welcome to the Res Life family of ACU - and the freshman girl's dorm, Nelson Hall!

Absolutely stoked as I enter this adventure, this trail, I am creating this blog (my first one, so bear with me) to document my journey. I'm looking ahead and expecting mountains and some bumpy dirt. But I'm also expecting companionship, strength, and a beautiful ending.

1 TIMOTHY 4:12, 15
Let no one despise your youth,
but be an example to the believers
in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit,
in faith, in purity... Meditate on these things
give yourself entirely to them, that your
progress may be evident to all.

I will not just share from my perspective. That would get old. I'll share about my girls and with my girls about the different turns we take and creatures we meet.

Be my companion, a friend who sharpens. Share what you've learned. I'm giving myself wholeheartedly to God for this adventure and trust He will use me.
I'll do hard things and exercise my spirit, because that's what profits.
This trail is going to be one of the best!
